Tekstar Optical Launches with High Quality "Made in Japan" Line of CCTV Lenses
Glenn Wolk, widely known in the security industry as "Mr. Varifocal," has launched Tekstar Optical, Inc. The new company is importing a high quality "Made in Japan" line of CCTV Lenses.
According to Wolk, the president of Tekstar Optical, "My main objective is to supply the industry with the latest state-of-the-art optical technology coming from Japan and be able to compete price-wise with the influx of lenses coming out of China, Korea and Taiwan."
Varifocals and long range motorized zooms make up the Tekstar line and the company is presently testing additional products for ½" and fixed focal lenses from Japan. Currently available are the 2.5~6mm 1/3" varifocal with IR coatings and the 3.3~8mm 1/3" varifocal with IR coatings. These popular lenses with their all glass color correction incorporate the latest IR coating technology from Japan that allows for unsurpassed optical quality through 900nm.
In addition, Tekstar Optical will carry the 2.8~12mm 1/3" and the 5~60mm 1/3" varifocals. These extended range varifocals offer the latest unique compact design from Japan.
All Tekstar Optical varifocals come in Manual, DC and Video Auto Iris versions and all carry a five-year warranty.
Tekstar Optical is also supplying a 20X and 50X motorized zoom line including the 10~200mm, 15-300mm, 10~500mm and the 20~1000mm, all in ½" format.
Before establishing Tekstar Optical, Wolk is credited for introducing varifocals to the U.S. market in 1991. He also played instrumental roles in Tamron and Tokina Industrial. "Tekstar Optical promises to be a different type of lens company," added Wolk. "We will meet the market demands for high-quality CCTV lenses that are made in Japan."
